beautiful girls!

One of our favorite things to do as a family is take a little day trip and have a picnic, take pictures and just spend time together.
I love it, because I get such great pictures of my girls and we always have such a fun time together.

We usually end up somewhere out doors, but this place had such a cool lodge that we spent most of the time taking pics inside.

It is so difficult to get a good photo of the two girls together. I just kept thinking to myself... how much harder it will be when we have 3 kids!!!

Why do I even try?!

This blog is a little old, but I just came across these pictures and they made me laugh.
This is the morning of Mothers day. Church starts at 8:30am!!
I spent the evening before rolling Leah's hair in sponge rollers and woke up extra early to make sure we all looked our best for my special day. All I wanted was a good picture of mommy and her girls all dolled up.
At least Reese cooperated for one photo. But as you can see, in the other one it was melt down city! I think my face expression says it all.

Sunday

Sunday was a little more laid back. We went to church of course. It was fun to show off my sweet little nephew. I thought the kids looked too good not to take their picture!

Lucas was so interested in seeing Animals in GA. When his big sister Brie stayed with us a few years ago, she was amazed by all the wild life you would see in our back yard. So naturally Lucas wanted to see it too.
Kevin and Luke went on a long walk in the woods behind my house. They saw a few critters like rabbits and squirrels. We could tell Luke was a little disapointed, so we called our friend who is a bird trainer and he let Luke come over and see his Hawks and falcons and Owls. He even got to see the owl eat a mouse!

The Braves

Saturday we went to the Braves game. Lucas's First Major League ball game. Even though we lost, he loved it. I think he liked his hot dog and peanuts better than the actual game. At least the Braves hit one home run so he got to see how exciting that is.

We took Brendan (Kevin's brothers little boy) with us.

After the game we bought Luke an Atlanta Braves hat. He loves it and wears it all the time.
After the week was over he said that the Braves game was the funnest thing we did.

The 4th of July

Lucas arrived on July 4th. As soon as he got to my house, he and the girls played on the water slide. then we went to Peachtree City to watch the fireworks and have a picnic.
? I didn't get any pics of Luke for some reason?

we had such a good time. Lucas said this was his "best 4th of July ever!"

On the walk back to the car, Lucas was wide eyed and staring into the trees. I asked what was wrong and he said "are those Monkeys in there?" He was talk about the crickets! Granted they are really loud in GA. I thought it was so cute how he acted like he was in a different country.

"guess what, I'm at Georgia now!"

To explain the title.. When Lucas landed in Georgia, he called his family and told all of them "guess what, I'm at georgia now!" And during the week he kept saying "at Georgia, you see lots of tree's" Or I am having so much fun at Georgia"

My next few blogs are going to chronicle Luke's week here with me.

These are a few pictures that Kevin took of my handsome Nephew. He really should be a model!

Leah turned 4

Today was such a fun day! This is the birthday party I wish I had when I was a kid. I know I go a bit overboard when it comes to birthday parties... but it is only one day a year that you get to feel this special.

So we had a beach themed party. It really felt like the beach with the sand. Kids were building sand castles, throwing Frisbee and playing in the water.

The party lasted more than five hours! Nobody wanted to leave.

It took a lot of work to set up and clean up. SAND everywhere!!
But it was worth the fun and the memories.
