Early Christmas

We are headed to Utah for Christmas this year so we had our family Christmas a little early.
It was so fun watching the kids rip through their gifts with so much excitement. Leah got a Bicycle. And Reese got a baby doll and buggy. They got some food and dishes for their
play Kitchen. My little performer, Leah, got a microphone and has been doing "shows" all Morning.
I will be down stairs and I will hear "Mom!! the shows about to start. Come take your seats!" Then she will sing and dance then take a bow and say "thank you, thank you"
Reese has been loving on her new doll and little monster (Kristi gave her) all day.

WOW!!! Leah on a big girl Bike! She had so much fun. She would go as fast as she could and then slam on the brakes. Her and Reese (with her doll buggy) were racing up and down the Street. Leah was very concerned that Santa forgot her Elbow pads. I am sure if she see's him at the mall she will let him know his mistake. The outfits the girls are wearing were a gift from Mama (kevin's mom Anita).

And their off! These girls are growing up too fast. I am cherishing every moment!

So you think you can dance!!!!!

Sorry ladies! I officially have the best husband in the world! I love surprises, and Kevin got me good the other day. He told me that we were going to his friend Chris's bday party at Dave and Busters. He arranged for the girls to stay the night at Kristi's house so we could stay out late. While we were eating dinner he handed me an envelope with So you think you can Dance tickets in it. I am obviously a huge fan of the show and really wanted to go, but when I saw the price of tickets I just forgot about it. Well, Kevin didn't so he found some great seats for a great price on Ebay and surprised me for my birthday (it isn't until Dec. 16th).

We had a BLAST!!! When we got there the show was just starting. I got so emotional!! I was literally star struck. I was tearing up with excitement. So much so that I couldn't even talk!! (I am blaming my reaction on pregnancy hormones, because I have never acted this way).

The entire show was fantastic. It was so fun to revisit all the dances and dancers I saw months ago. I hope we will get to go again next year.

Fall Photo's

Who doesn't LOVE the fall? Perfect weather, gorgeous scenery, kids playing in the fallen leaves. So of course, we took our girls
out to capture the memories. We really got some great shots.
These are just a few. It is wonderful having a photographer for a
husband, but it is hard to have to wait for all the editing and
transferring to be done before I can get my hands on the pictures.

Halloween Night

The Good witch and the bad witch
Mark is a Jail Warden. I guess these two cuties are his prisoners.
Glinda the "Grumpy Witch"

Kristi the Prisoner, Laurie the Wicked witch of the West, Kenzie the Hippie

The Wizard of Oz crew

Every year I pull out my sewing maching to test my slowly improving skills. This year I decided to do do the wizard of Oz. I chose this theme mainly because I thought Asa would make such a cute little scarecrow. Was I right? or was I right!!!
Glinda the Good witch
Dorothy in her little red chair
Reese looked so stinking cute as Dorothy. She loved her shiny red shoes and she carried toto around all night long. This dress looked so cute on her, I want her to wear it to church (Would that be weird?). My favorite thing about this picture is how well you can see her one snaggle tooth. What a sweet little girl!
Leah would look cute in a potato sac, so I shouldn't worry. But when I first made this costume, I made it according to the pattern. And I just didn't like how it turned out. The sleeves weren't puffy and the skirt was flat. I tried to ignore my distaste because I still had to make Dorothy and the scarecrow costumes. She wore it the original way to the church Trunk or Treat party and everyone kept saying "what a pretty little princess" even with Dorothy and the Scarecrow next to her.
That convinced me I needed to Vamp up the Glinda costume! So I added the big puffy sleeves and added more fullness to the skirt. My efforts were rewarded when she went to a house all by herself and the people said "Here comes Glinda! You look so beautiful" Then of course Leah had to get into a big discussion with the lady about how Reese is Dorothy and Asa is the scarecrow and her mommy was the Bad witch.....
This year, My Vote goes to Asa for the best Halloween costume! He was born to be the scarecrow. His cute little face and unstable walk just fit the character perfectly. He was such a trooper too, he didn't even try to pull off the hood! (well maybe a few failed attempts).

Group shot. Nobody is smiling, but it shows the costumes off (and that is what is important right!? We had such a great Halloween. The kids loved going from house to house getting candy. Whoever came up with Halloween trick or treating should get an award for making so many kids happy at one time!

medical journal worthy

AHHHH! This has been such an awful couple of days!

My poor baby is miserable. My heart just aches for her, because I can't do anything to help her feel better.
Reese (obviously) had a horrible reaction to the Amoxicillan She was taking for an ear infection. She finished her 10 day dose and then broke out. The doctor called it Erythema Multiforme. and it is an external reaction.. meaning that it isn't effecting her breathing or anything life threatening. She is just Miserable!! They burn and itch uncontrollably.
Poor baby! Benedryl doesn't seem to do much.
If anyone has had this happen to one of their kids, please let me know what to expect next!!! Every day seems to get worse. The first day she has a few small spots on her arms and legs and diaper area. The last picture was taken this morning. She is so swollen, She looks like a different kid.

No more penicillin for this baby!!

Reese's crazy laugh

This little girl is so funny to me! She does this laugh when she wants to get you going. She will do it at grocery stores to complete strangers.
If you look closely you will be able to see her one upper tooth. She is 17 months old and only has two bottom and one top tooth. This makes her laugh even funnier with her one snaggle tooth!

The world of Coke

The Last day of Lauren's visit was kind of a disappointment. we had planned to spend the day at six flags but when we got there it was closed!!! we were so bummed.
we ended up having a fun day at the world of coke where we got to try 60 different types of soda from around the world.

The next day we went to a Safari. nasty slobbery animals put their huge heads in our window bigging for food. It was a cool experience, but trust me when a big slobbery tongue came my way I would roll that window up pronto!
one of the funniest things that happened was when we were all looking out the left side of the car trying to get the giraffes to come to us and all of the sudden a big Zebra had its whole head in my window and about scared poor Reese and me to Death! I couldn't stop laughing and the thing wouldn't go away. I have to say, I prefer my exotic animals at a distance.
We did get to feed the Giraffe which was pretty cool and it didn't slobber too much.

Lauren's visit starts with the aquarium

Lauren (my niece) came out for a visit a few weeks ago. She was really sick the first few days of her visit. So she rested on the couch the first two days BUMMER!!
We did get to do some fun stuff. We went to the Georgia aquarium and had a great time. Everyone except for Reese! All those big ugly Fish really freaked her out. Lauren loves animals so she was in heaven. And Leah is still talking about the Penguins.

My baby is a big girl!

Leah started Pre-K a few weeks ago. In Georgia, the state funds a education program that pays for all 4 year olds to go to pre-school. it is all day school just like the big kids. No half days like I grew up with.
Leah's name was actually chosen from 89 names and is able to attend pre-k at the elementary school (everyone else has to go to a day care center). Her class has 20 children in it. She loves it!
She loves it so much that she woke me up on Saturday morning with her school shoes in one hand and an outfit in another.
She is such a social butterfly. She tells me about all her friends and what they talked about. She tells me how one shy girl is starting to talk to her now. "I asked what did she say?" Leah's answer was "she said 'Go away and leave me alone!"
Hey, well at least she talked! and Leah seemed pretty excited about it.
As you can see from the third photo, the school schedule was hard to get used to. the first few days she didn't take a nap during nap time (she of course wanted to play). She is now taking naps and going to bed around 9:30 instead of the usual 11:30-1:00!!
This school thing has been good for the whole family and our sleep schedules.
